How the YouStar Studio is Helping Students Communicate With Sign Language

Part of the Division of Information Technology’s mission is to tell the stories of how technology is making students, faculty, and staff at Texas State University more successful.

Our latest story features graduate school student Carlos Baca, who is using the new YouStar Studio in the Albert B. Alkek Library. Baca is telling the story of his work on fungus and frogs in the Department of Biology using video and sign language – communicating to those he may not have been able to reach otherwise.
