The new and improved TXST Mobile app

The TXST mobile app is new and improved for fall 2019!

Here is an inside look at the changes. Make sure and download the new app as soon as possible. The old version of the app stops working on Aug. 2.

The first thing you see when you log in to the new app is a screen highlighting features the app has to offer.txst mobile app landing screen showcasing new features

You now have the ability to customize your menu. You decide what modules are important for you. Drive to school and don’t care for the shuttle? You don’t have to see it on your screen, but you always have the opportunity to add it back if you wish.

Some of the app’s new features include:

My TXST

Your one-stop for everything important. In the module, you can view holds, upcoming bills, and courses.

Without a doubt, course schedules are the most accessed documents at the beginning of each semester. Much like the previous version, you can view your schedule in a list view, but insider tip: you can double-tap on the course, and it will open up a map with the course building AND give directions!

Gone are the days of logging on to Texas State’s self-service website on mobile to screenshot your schedule in weekly view. That is now accessible in the app.

Shuttle

The main difference between the updated add and the previous one is the new app remembers what building or routes you previously selected. You don’t have to scroll through all the options to view your shuttle route, buildings, or stops every time you open the app!

Academic Calendar

There is now a holidays tab. I repeat there is now a holidays tab! Easily view dates for Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. The linear, timeline view on both the Academic and Holiday tab makes it easier on the eye and breaks up the information nicely for easy reading.

Campus Contacts

This feature provides easy access to the university’s offices such as Financial Aid, ITAC, Registrar, Bobcat Bobbies Safety Escort, and most importantly UPD. Now in times of emergency, whether it may be a clerical or safety emergency, you don’t have to search for the important numbers anymore. They are just a few clicks away!

News & Events

The University Star’s newsfeed is one of the biggest additions to the updated app. Users can conveniently view the Star’s latest articles from their menu screen and can find all articles in the News module.

The events tab has the ability to easily filter events that are happening that same day, that week, or in that month, so now it’s even easier to get involved on campus!

Under the Athletics tab, you can find both news and events exclusive for TXST Athletics.

The updated app is truly a different experience. The changes come after months of research and testing. App developers from the Division of Information Technology (DOIT) were on campus getting feedback from Bobcats, in order to truly customize the app.

The app update was released on July 25. TXST Mobile is always evolving, so Bobcats are encouraged to send their feedback to mobilefeedback@txstate.edu while they use the app.
