Cybersecurity Awareness Month is here!

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is here!

Did you know that October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month? Texas State’s Information Security Office and the Division of Information Technology (DOIT) want to help you learn more about cybersecurity.

As users in today’s digital age, it is very likely that you have been a target of an internet scam. You know, the ones where it sounds like it’s a deal too good to be true. Given the common nature of these, I urge you to be extra cautious online. If you don’t recognize the sender of an email, or it’s not something you were expecting to receive, take the time to check the links before you click and don’t provide your personal information. Scammers have come a long way in their tactics, and often, the attacks can look very legitimate.

So, please think before you click or open any attachments that may harm your computer. If you have questions regarding the legitimacy of an email, you can reach out to ITAC for assistance.
