Adobe Creative Suite available to Bobcats

Did you know that Texas State offers Adobe Creative Cloud – an expansive collection of over 20 professional-level tools for graphic design, image and video editing, effects creation, web, and application development? You can decide which apps you want to use and which you don’t, making it customizable to you. Programs include Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and more. LinkedIn Learning also has courses for you to learn these programs if you’re not familiar with them.

Students at many universities are using their access to these tools to acquire skills that will give them a competitive advantage when seeking employment. At a recent conference, I saw a presentation from a college freshman who received an award at the Grammys (and $350k) for a video she produced as part of the Breakthrough Junior Challenge using a set of tools in Creative Cloud she learned as part of a school project.

Adobe Creative Cloud is available to for free to all faculty, staff, student employees, and Graduate Assistants.  Discounted subscriptions are also available for students to purchase for their personally owned computer. Adobe Creative Cloud is available for free to students in our open computer labs and the library.

I am happy that we are able to offer these programs to our university community.  Not only do they help produce professional quality results, but students who learn these programs often have a competitive edge when they list them on their resumes for future employment.

This is just one of the ways the Division of Information Technology strives to support our fellow Bobcats. I invite you to learn more about Adobe Creative Suite at https://doit.txstate.edu/services/adobecreativecloud.html.
