O365 Gets two-factored for faculty and staff

Early this week, the Division of Information Technology enabled Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using Duo on Office 365 to extend the security of our electronic resources. It is only a requirement for devices accessing Office 365 from outside of the campus network (potentially mobile devices, tablets, home computers) and once authenticated, shouldn’t require additional authentication with MFA for quite some time.

Since launching this on Monday, we have already identified two accounts that were compromised and prevented the bad actors from accessing those accounts. This implementation will be a big help in our efforts to securing our electronic information.
