This summer, Alkek Library hosted some amazing creative online workshops, and this fall they have more upcoming workshops to help you expand your creative skills. There’s always new technology to explore! Take a look below to see if there are any that might interest you.
Introduction to 3D Design
This workshop will introduce participants to 3D modeling using TinkerCAD, an online 3D modeling interface. Participants will use basic shapes to create a digital model that can be 3D printed in the Alkek MakerSpace at a later date.

Augmented Reality Composer for Presentations
This workshop will teach educators and students how to use Augmented Reality for effective 3-D presentation using mobile phones/tablets. This workshop does require you to work on an iPad or an iPhone 8 or newer (with the latest iOS). Please download the Reality Composer app from the App Store

2D Design Fabrication
This workshop will introduce participants to design concepts as they relate to creating physical objects. Participants will use Adobe Illustrator to design parts or objects that can be cut out or created using equipment in the Alkek MakerSpace.
