Digital note taking with OneNote

Digital note taking with OneNote

Working online means you are probably using digital tools to study and complete assignments. OneNote is a great tool for Bobcats for digital note-taking. It’s included in Office 365, which everyone at Texas State gets for free. This service helps you keep organized by dividing your notes into sections and pages for your classes or projects. You can also share and create notes and ideas.

More than writing notes

One of the great things about OneNote is the ability to include multi-media, such as video and audio recordings, and even hand drawn notes. There’s also optical character recognition included in the search functionality that lets you search digital notebooks. You can search to find specific keywords quickly, and search text from images and handwritten notes. So no more flipping through pages and pages of written notes to find that one thing you wrote down, the benefit of a digital notebook is that you can just search for it!

Collaboration with others

With the ability to add tables, graphs, share notes, and even password protect your notes, OneNote is a great tool for working collaboratively with fellow Bobcats. It can be used on multiple devices, such as desktop, tablet, and mobile phone (my personal favorite). As a student, I like that I no longer have to carry along my notebook with me everywhere, because I have all of my notes integrated on my phone.
