This month, Adobe is partnering with Netflix for a creative jam inviting college students across the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada in a beginner-friendly design filled weekend. Luckily, all Texas State students have continued access to the Adobe Creative Suite for free until July 6, so assemble your team members and sign up for this jam!
Over the course of the weekend, students will be given a prompt and will aim to create a project using Adobe XD to present to the Netflix design team for feedback. Adobe XD is the Adobe prototyping tool for user experience and interaction designers. Adobe XD features are used for creating wireframes, prototypes, and screen designs for digital products such as websites and mobile apps.
Project outcomes are not intended to be complete works, but only a demonstration of your talent and process. Project ideas are not owned and will not be used by Adobe or Netflix. However, if Netflix is interested in your work, you may be contacted for further collaboration. Competing in this challenge not only allows you bragging rights but also gives you the chance to win a $500 cash prize and a one-year subscription to the Adobe Creative Suite.
If you’ve never participated in a creative jam before, they are a great way to think creatively in a fast-paced environment. They require you to work in a fast-paced environment to figure out your strengths and role in your group and work together to a shared outcome. This jam doesn’t require any previous experience, the journey is all part of the fun!
In order to participate you must be a currently-enrolled student of an accredited college or university in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada, register with a valid campus-issued email address, and you must be part of a team of 2 or more. Registering for this jam ends on June 11th at 11 pm. For more information or to sign-up, visit the official Eventbrite page.
