Virtual Microsoft Teams training available in June

Microsoft and Vitalyst have partnered to allow all TXST faculty, staff, and students to attend virtual Microsoft Teams training from Monday, June 1, through Monday, June 15. The following training options are available:

Getting Started with Microsoft Teams (1 hour)

Upon completion of this training, users will be able to:

  • Open the online version of Teams using the Office 365 home screen
  • Install the desktop app from the online version
  • Use the side pane to access major areas of the application
  • Use the activity feed to check for, and access recent activity
  • Locate and use the main search box
  • Use the profile picture to access settings and the sign-out link
  • Use the settings area to set startup options and determine how notifications will be handled

Teams for Intermediate Users (1 hour)

Upon completion of this training, users will be able to:

  • Change a team’s privacy settings
  • Add and remove members from a team
  • Manage members’ roles and permissions
  • Edit a team’s settings
  • Delete a channel or change its name

Creating and Managing Teams (1 hour)

Upon completion of this training, users will be able to:

  • Define the purpose of the team
  • Create a new team for collaboration and sharing information
  • Add channels to a new or existing team
