Time has flown by and it’s officially summer, Bobcats! Whether you are social distancing at home or keeping it cool with fellow Texans, it’s the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and dig into your daily essentials. The IT Assistance Center (ITAC) is here to offer some relevant advice on what resources you should use this summer, so let’s get into it.
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Whether your PPE includes a face mask or an ensemble of gloves and protective eye wear, it’s important to protect yourself and others around you as we’re still in the midst of a pandemic. Keep a safe distance while enjoying your summer!
Hand sanitizer
Just as important as PPE—always sanitize yourself before and after interacting with others in public. You may not show symptoms, but it’s critical to keep at-risk people safe.
Summer cleaning time
Who says you need to wait for spring to get that cleaning done? With ample time on your hands, it’s a great time to scrub up both your physical environment and digital workspaces. Break out the shower tile cleaner and free anti-virus software (Windows or Mac) and put some elbow grease into it! Sadly, ITAC can’t help you with the physical aspect of tidying up, but feel free to contact us if you need assistance with your tech cleaning.
Creative outlet
We all need a bit of a distraction from the internet every once and a while—it’s important to give yourself mental health a break. One of my personal favorite ways to release some stress is working on some art! Adobe Creative Cloud will be readily available for students until July 6, 2020, which isn’t an offer you see every day. Take what you can get and try out some of the apps at your disposal. Another great way to get your creative juices flowing while simultaneously building your resume is writing a blog.
Of course this is only a handful of things you can keep in mind through the summer; there are plenty more activities that can keep you in the loop and ready for action. Stay safe out there, Bobcats, and remember to take some time for yourself when you can!
