As a Texas State student fresh out of my first year, I’m confident in my ability to help out new students, whether you’re an incoming freshman or a transfer student.
One of my favorite things about Texas State is the campus; full of nature, historical buildings, and of course, lots of hills. As beautiful as the campus is, it can be a bit of a headache to get to where you need to go, especially if you have no idea where that final destination is in the first place. This is where the Texas State Mobile app comes in handy. With just your phone, you can find where you need to be on an interactive map, locate bus routes, check your class schedule, and grab a bite to eat along the way! Let’s get into each of these features to make your first year at Texas State easy peasy.
First off, the layout is extremely simple and straightforward. Make sure you’ve logged in with your NetID and password to ensure access to your schedule. There are little icons on the home screen that give you a straight shot to any feature you need! The bus route map is the two-in-one app that saved me so much time my first semester on campus. You can select bus routes on the map of campus, or select buildings you need to get to, which helps you avoid getting lost in the maze that is Texas State altogether!
Aren’t sure where to start with your map? Go ahead and click on the My TXST selection from the home page. From there, you’ll be able to see a detailed course breakdown with building names, room numbers, and times without even leaving the app. You can now see your Week at a Glance schedule in the same place as well. No more wandering aimlessly! Get to your classes in a timely manner to snag your favorite seat.
Last but not least on my list of favorite features is the dining hall option. You can find opening and closing times to every food joint on campus! We have food courts located in every corner of campus and TXST Mobile helps you get a bite to eat in between classes.
These three options are only a fraction of what the TXST Mobile app has to offer, so I recommend getting familiar with it before you even step foot on campus! Don’t fret, our mobile app is available on both iOS and Android devices so everyone can get the full Texas State experience.
