Gato Smart Forms have arrived

For those who edit websites at Texas State, there are few things more satisfying than a new update to your favorite platform! It’s time to roll out the new Gato feature that will change the way you create forms. Things can get tricky when trying to create questions that apply to your entire audience while keeping your site’s layout organized. That’s why the new Gato update will save you time and energy with just a couple clicks.

Customization is key when you begin writing questions for your department, so make sure the responses users are met with correlate to their initial intent by using a Smart Form. Previously, all of your questions, whether they related to the user or not, had to be listed on one form. Now, you can continue creating dependent questions for as long as you need. Dependent questions are there for you to customize based on how the user responds to the prior question. You can easily adjust the style of the following prompts, just as you would when adding sections to your usual Gato pages.

Removing unrelated sections to avoid confusion on the user’s end will drastically change the way both you and your audience interact with the site. The streamlined process takes users exactly where they need to go, avoiding interference that could direct them down the wrong path. Take advantage of the new feature by elevating your current forms in Gato today.

Gato is Texas State’s web content management system and the official tool for faculty and staff to manage websites for academic and administrative departments.
