You might have heard the big news, but in case you missed it, Texas State University’s domain (internet address) has changed. Goodbye, “txstate.edu,” and hello, “txst.edu”!
The change will become official on July 21, 2022. You can read more about the entire project on the supporting webpage.
If you are a university community member, you might be wondering what you must do now that you have the news. Although faculty, staff, and students do not need to take any action right now, there are several things faculty and staff can keep in mind.
Update office stationery
Low on letterhead or business cards? If you are making an order soon, use the new internet address for any website references. You can search the TSUS Marketplace catalog to start an order.
Update course content
Faculty, as you prepare for the fall semester, remember to update your course content. It is a simple but significant measure to help reinforce the change.
Spread the word
Everyday conversation is one of the most effective forms of mass communication. Be the bearer of good news and spread the word. Whether in a department meeting, newsletter, or a brief conversation, we strongly encourage you to tell other Bobcats about the change. You can share the information page as well; it is doit.txstate.edu/domainchange.
