The IT Assistance Center (ITAC) Service Centers are available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and Texas State retirees. Both San Marcos and Round Rock locations are open Monday through Friday. There is also LiveChat availability throughout the week and on Sunday. ITAC assists with connecting and securing technology for the TXST community. 

SERVICES OFFERED

Software support: 

Do you have questions about installing Microsoft 365, device encryption, or connecting to Wi-Fi? ITAC is here for you! The Service Center desk works with all ITAC supported software.

ResNet: 

The Residence Hall Network helps protect Bobcats from the spread of virus attacks throughout the TXST network. However, if you are concerned, then ITAC can assist through basic scans at the ITAC Service Center for malware with no additional charge! 

Hardware troubleshooting: 

Is your device running slow or sending error messages? ITAC will work with you to identify the issue and offer next steps. Many software issues can be resolved at their desk, but some issues may require more support—especially with hardware. In that case, you may need to leave your computer there for the repair team to evaluate how they can assist. 

Check in for repairs: 

To have your device serviced, head to the ITAC Service center, check it in, and their staff will assist you. The repair team is Apple/Dell certified and qualified to help with repairs in and out of warranty. Even if you don’t own an Apple or Dell, drop by and find out what the repair team can do to help. They can evaluate your computer and provide an estimate for the cost of repair. 

Here are some devices that ITAC cannot repair: 

  • Personal Cell phones, tablets, and wearables. 
  • Chromebooks. 
  • Cameras.
