Are you getting tired of steaming movies and TV shows? There are a ton of free entertainment options available while you’re staying safe inside, social distancing, and taking a break from your online classes. Take a look at some great tech alternatives.

Free exercise classes

Texas State’s Campus Recreation department is hosting virtual workouts with Fitness from Home. You can live stream a workout session with Zoom or view any of their on-demand videos, such as High Performance Interval Training (HIIT), Yoga, and Total Body Toning.

Peloton is also offering a 90-day free trial of their Peloton app fitness content to take your at-home workouts to a new level. As routines continue to change, the Peloton app is a great way to change up your workout routine with exercises for strength, running, and cycling. They even have classes for yoga, mediation, and stretching.

Free comics

Multiple places are offering free digital comic books. Dark Horse is offering free first-issues of popular comics including Hellboy, Stranger Things, Frozen, The Incredibles, Disney Treasure Island, and much more. Marvel is also offering multiple free comic books that include the Avengers, Fantastic 4, and Black Panther.

The Wittliff Collections is closed right now, which is located on the 7th floor of Alkek Library, but they have many great online exhibitions that you can check out! Take a road trip across every highway in Texas, check out Cabeza de Vaca’s La Relación, see The Ashes of Waco, and more.

Google is offering virtual tours of some of the most famous museums around the world that you can view through the comfort of your own home. This includes the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands, National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., The Art Insitute of Chicago, and much more!
