TSPs take time to talk tech

The Division of Information Technology provides technology services and support for students, faculty, and staff across the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. And with all of this technology, our offices sometimes need help getting things set up and working correctly. We turn to our technical support personnel (TSPs) within each of our offices, departments, or colleges

Our TSPs are very skilled and knowledgeable but still need to be updated when technology is introduced, updated, or phased out. Lucky for our TSPs, there’s a way for them to get this knowledge and collaborate with others across the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses.

The IT Assistance Center (ITAC) developed Tech Talk for TSPs. What is Tech Talk? It is an event series for staff designated as the department TSP, including staff who are not in a technical position. The events allow TSPs to connect, share, learn, and help solve technology-related challenges.

At the November Tech Talk, presentations included:

  • how to best protect your Zoom meetings
  • safe file transfer tools
  • the new Information Security Phishbowl

If you are a TSP who has not yet attended a Tech Talk, I highly encourage you to attend the spring event; you might be missing some important discussions. Keep an eye open for an email from ITAC in the spring!
