Registration station for Summer and Fall 2021

Registration station for Summer and Fall 2021

The IT Assistance Center (ITAC) has teamed up with the Office of the University Registrar to support Bobcats as we get ready for Summer and Fall 2021 semesters. If you haven’t already, mark your calendars and set your alarms for Monday, March 29, to land your dream courses. Fortunately, there is no need to break a sweat when prepping for the next term, we have gathered the best tips for ensuring a stress-free registration process – so you can craft your ideal schedule ASAP:

  1. Double-check your time ticket on Texas State Self-Service under the Registration Status link in the Student tab. Tickets are based on classification (e.g., senior, junior, etc.), but your time slots are based on overall hours earned as of Monday, March 1, 2021.
  2. Make sure to meet with an academic advisor in your college to discuss degree requirements. It is strongly recommended Bobcats meet with their advisors to eliminate confusion about academic progress. I schedule an appointment early in the semester to spread out my preparation for the next semester. Scheduling ensures I won’t have to wait until the last minute for an appointment, and I get a lot of time to speak with my advisor.
  3. When you are ready to fill up your registration Shopping Cart, head to Texas State Self-Service and click on the Student tab. Under the Registration link, you will find two options available for registering. Both techniques have their benefits, so let’s break them down and decide which works best for you:
    • Registration and Schedule Changes: This is a straightforward process if you know the course reference number (CRN) or want to make quick changes to an existing schedule.
    • Bobcat Schedule Builder: This is the best choice for planning out your schedule. The accessible platform makes it easy to search for classes, compare available schedules, and create breaks in your week. Once you have spoken to an advisor, you can play around with different schedules to satisfy degree requirements. Once you have selected the best course schedule, send it to your Shopping Cart, and it will be ready at your allotted registration time ticket.

Have fun prepping for your summer and fall courses, Bobcats! And remember, for technical support, you can contact ITAC
