Hey fellow Bobcats, I had some time on my hands over the break, so I researched and compiled a bunch of student discounts you can get to boost your spirits. You can use any of these to add more entertainment to your roster or to even help you out with class projects. So here we go, some of the great student discounts you can get with just your student ID number.
Spotify + Hulu + SHOWTIME
For only $4.99 a month you can get a Spotify premium account that comes with Hulu and SHOWTIME. All you have to do is verify you’re a student and you can renew the discount for up to four years and you’re a full time student. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
Adobe Creative Cloud
For $19.99 a month you can get the entire Adobe Creative Cloud where you’ll get access to a suite of 20+ apps right at your fingertips. This is great for art majors, film majors or any creative type who wants to utilize the programs. If you’re not sure, there is a free 7-day trial so you can play around on the apps before you pay the monthly fee. Look for the Adobe Creative Cloud student discount link on the IT Assistance Center web page. If you need help getting started, go to the IT Assistance Center Adobe Creative Cloud Support page.
Amazon Prime
With your student ID, you can get all the Amazon Prime benefits for $6.49 a month following a 6-month free trial. You will have Prime access to delivery, video, music, and reading. There are many other apps you can pair with your Amazon Prime membership for even more benefits. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
Audible
With Audible you can have access to any audible original, podcast or audio book. You can sign up for a free 30-day trial before you have to pay $14.95 a month. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
Apple Music
I might be a Spotify user, but if Apple Music is more your speed, you’re in luck! With your student ID you can get Apple Music for $5 a month, and you can get free access to Apple TV+. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
Microsoft 365
The best discount you can get is free, and as a student at Texas State you don’t have to pay one penny for Microsoft 365. There are even apps you can download to use on your desktop, laptop, or mobile devices. If you need help getting started, the IT Assistance center can help.
Paramount+
If you’re looking for a new streaming service to boost your entertainment roster, check out Paramount+! Students can get a free one-week trial before getting 25% off the $5 a month fee. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
Squarespace
Do you need a website for a creative portfolio? Take a look at Squarespace! Students can get 50% off the first year. *Note: This is not supported by the IT Assistance Center.
There are some discounts in here that I had no idea were even available to students and I will more than likely be taking advantage of them. I hope you share the same sentiment Bobcats! But remember, these are discounts across many different companies and the IT Assistance Center does not support most of these programs.
