Prepare for successful course registration

Prepare for successful course registration

With spring break in our rearview mirrors and finals approaching, we can start planning which courses to register for in the upcoming semester. While course registration can be overwhelming and confusing, it doesn’t have to be! Read on and you’ll be ready when registration opens on Monday, March 27.

You can browse the summer and fall Schedule of Classes now. After following the link, simply select the term you want to search. Don’t forget to bookmark the class schedule tool. Another tool you’ll find extremely helpful is the Bobcat Experience web page. This page consolidates a variety of university resources into a single space. No more scrolling through a long list of links. Using Bobcat Experience, you can navigate all the services you need using information cards. The cards can be organized to fit your needs.

Here’s a peek at what you can find on the Bobcat Experience web page:

To prepare for a successful registration, you’ll need to have a plan: identify the resources you need, bookmark the online tools you want to use, and schedule a meeting with your academic advisor. The Bobcat Experience web page will have many of the tools you’ll need to get ready and all in an easy and convenient location.

Here are a few things to remember to be successful with your course registration:

  1. Plan ahead for your registration date to be prepared.
  2. Review the Schedule of Classes and choose your courses.
  3. Review your degree audit and talk with an academic advisor. If you are unable to meet with an advisor before your registration date, you are still eligible for course registration! Register for your courses then meet with your advisor to adjust your schedule if needed.
  4. Check registration eligibility, holds, and excess hours.
  5. Check your Time Ticket to see when you can register.

Follow these simple steps and you’ll be all set! The last thing to do now is, to sign up for your courses using Texas State’s Self-Service registration system.
